HPS Student Services

HPS Undergraduate Advising receives thousands of dollars for training, and to collaborate with UNT TRIO SSS team to address at-risk student retention, and support first-generation and low-income students

The funding from the Office of the President’s College-Level Retention Proposals & Awards will be used for new initiatives and programs to holistically support students’ college experience.

Clarence Sutton

Clarence is a new Career Coach for the College of Health and Public Service with a primary focus on Criminal Justice, Emergency Administration and Planning, Nonprofit Leadership Studies, Public Administration and Urban Policy and Planning. He has his B.S. in Business Management from Alabama State University and his MPA from Louisiana State University with a focus in Community Partnerships. Clarence has a passion for helping students as he strives to help them translate their skills and experiences into internships and job opportunities.

Paige Tamboury, M.Ed.

Paige Tamboury, California native, attended her local community college (Santa Rosa Junior College) and received three AA degrees in Humanities, Social and Behavioral Science, and Sociology. She attended Southern Oregon University for her undergraduate degree in Sociology and Anthropology with a minor in Psychology, then attended University of Houston for her graduate degree in Higher Education and just recently graduated in 2023. She says she misses the sound of the Pacific Ocean and hiking in the Redwood Forrest.

Cris Buxton

Cris is an alumna of UNT – first receiving her BA in Fashion Merchandising, Business, and Communications and post-bacc in English and Secondary Education. She then earned her MEd from Lamar University in Educational Administration in 2009. She was a public-school teacher and administrator prior to coming to UNT, where she has worked since 2018. Cris has been married since 1995 and has one child, who earned her bachelor's degree from UNT's College of Health and Public Service. Cris enjoys spending time with her family, watching sports, and traveling.

Janice Lader, M.Ed.

Hobbies: Spending time with friends and family, going to the theatre and concerts, trying out new recipes, and working on my Ph.D. (which takes up most of my free time right now)

Fun Facts: I lived in Chicago, South Florida, and Virginia Beach before moving to Texas
