Great Graduate: Marisa Nowicki

After receiving a scholarship from The Terry Foundation, Marisa Nowicki made the most of her time at UNT.

As a result, she earned one of the highest honors given to a student — the UNT Presidential Excellence Award — at UNT’s 2017 Wingspan Gala. Marisa, a University of North Texas Honors College student, has an impressive resume for her time here.

She studied abroad in San José, Costa Rica and Barcelona, Spain. She was in the North Texas in DC Internship Program program this past semester in Washington, D.C., interning with U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28). She also completed a highly competitive summer fellowship at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public & International Affairs. Additionally, she’s a proud member of the UNT Country Western Dance Club and dances in Western swing competitions for fun.

This month, she’ll receive B.S. degrees in Behavior Analysis and Psychology, with a minor in Spanish. Then it’s off to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, which gave Marisa a full scholarship to attend its master’s program in public policy and management. She will spend one year of the program studying in Adelaide, Australia. Congratulations, Marisa!
