Christianna Walker, a sophomore rehabilitation studies major and president of Tuesday Night Flights, and Cpl. Kevin Crawford of the UNT Police Department collaborated to create a special accommodations identification card that can be given to first responders during an interaction.
This card lists personal characteristics an individual may want a first responder to understand in order to have the most effective interaction with the individual. It can be used by anyone who wants first responders to know information about them before an interaction begins.
Walker had the idea to create the card after a personal experience with a police officer. Both Walker and Crawford hope the ID card will catch on and become a useful tool on the UNT campus and beyond.
Tuesday Night Flights is a student organization at UNT for neurodiverse students.
