Videos: HPS student survives five days in the desert

HPS student Amber VanHecke was profiled on ABC's 20/20, Nightline and Good Morning America and in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram for surviving after being stranded in the Arizona desert for five days.

She was looking for a trailhead near the Grand Canyon's south rim, but GPS sent her down the wrong roads, which led to her being lost and running out of gas.

According to emergency rescue, she "did everything right" to survive and be rescued.
