The UNT College of Health & Public Service Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Justice Policy and Administration has been ranked fourth in Texas and #24 in the nation out of 96 by US News & World Report in the Best Online Master's in Criminal Justice Programs category.

The rankings are based on factors such as faculty credentials and access, student engagement and excellence, peer assessments and graduation rates.

“This ranking reflects the hard work and dedication of our faculty in building and maintaining high-quality online classes,” said Adam Trahan, chair of the Department of Criminal Justice. “It also shows show our continued commitment to excellence and to providing our students with a top-tier education.”

The MSCJ with a concentration in Justice Policy and Administration is a two-year program offered 100% online and equips students with an understanding of the nature and scope of problems posed by crime as well as the administration of the criminal justice system. All courses are designed and developed by full-time Criminal Justice graduate faculty.

The department also offers a campus-based MSCJ with a concentration in Theory and Research that enhances students’ ability to take informed and thoughtful actions in their career path as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, accelerated grad-track program and a Criminal Justice minor.

The university received a total of five national top 25 online program rankings:
