Celebrating a Legacy in Public Service: The George R. Schrader Professorship

As a Carnegie‐ranked Tier One research university and Hispanic-Serving Institution, UNT stands among the nation's largest public research universities, with nearly 40,000 students and numerous programs recognized for excellence. Notably, UNT's Master of Public Administration (MPA) program ranks #7 in the nation and #1 in Texas for local government management, as recognized by US News & World Report. This program is dedicated to preparing leaders for public and nonprofit organizations through innovative curriculum, interdisciplinary research, and professional development.

In honor of George R. Schrader, Dallas' 10th city manager and a pioneer of modern city management, we are establishing an endowed professorship. During his tenure (1972-1981), Mr. Schrader oversaw significant developments, including Dallas City Hall, the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and the Dallas Arts District.
