Dr. Jikong earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology in 1997 from the University of Buea in The Cameroons. In 2012, he earned a master’s degree in Biotechnology and later in 2016, obtained a second master’s in Molecular and Cell Biology from The University of Texas at Dallas. With over 15 years of diverse background in public health, hospital environment, global infectious disease sectors, and clinical research, Dr. Jikong chose to pursue his education in Health Administration. In 2020, he earned a Doctorate degree in Health Administration with specialization in Healthcare Leadership.

Over the years, Dr. Jikong has been at the forefront of three of the deadliest public health crises of our time, working with HIV-AIDS, H1N1, and Covid-19 with some of the finest minds in the field locally and internationally. Dr. Jikong Joined the UNT faculty in Fall of 2021 from Baylor Scott & White Health system.
