Dr. Shyamkumar Sriram is an Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) of Public Health at University of North Texas and a medical doctor. He was previously an Assistant Professor in Health Administration at Ohio University. Dr. Sriram holds a PhD in Health Services Policy and Management from the University of South Carolina, MPH from Tulane University, MHS from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and MS from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He has also completed the Safety, Quality, Informatics and Leadership Program from the Harvard Medical School and also has a medical degree and residency in Preventive Medicine from India. He has completed a ‘Prevention Effectiveness Fellowship’ with the CDC. He has worked in a number of World Bank funded global health projects in India, Papa New Guinea, Turkey and Nigeria and a number of domestic public health projects with the CDC.

He is a distinguished academic who has contributed to public health interventions across a number of developing countries globally. He has publications in prestigious journals such as BMC Public Health, BMC Health Services Research, Plos One, Reproductive Health, Frontiers in Public Health, Medicina. He aims to bridge research and public health practice for improving population health.

His professional interests include global health, health financing, health policy, and health economics research. He likes to play tennis and loves travelling.
