About
Susie Nichols has been a key member of the Kristin Farmer Autism Center executive
team since the center's establishment in 2012, providing strategic leadership and
overseeing the development and implementation of clinical standards and new programs.
In addition to guiding clinical services, she contributes to operational planning,
grant writing, and research initiatives at the center.
With over 25 years of experience in autism intervention, Dr. Nichols brings a deep
understanding of individuals with autism across the lifespan and spectrum in both
education and clinical settings. Her professional background includes roles as a self-contained
special education teacher and interventionist in local school districts. As a Board
Certified Behavior Analyst at the Doctoral Level (BCBA-D, she has worked extensively
with individuals with autism across home and center-based environments.
Dr. Nichols earned Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Texas Woman's University and
both her Master's and PhD in Special Education/Autism Intervention from the University
of North Texas. She is an active member of several professional organization and has
taught undergraduate and graduate courses in the department of Special Education at
UNT.
Fun Fact:
She is a mom to two teenage children and two miniature poodles.
