List of rankingsU.S. News & World Report has ranked four UNT College of Health & Public Service graduate programs in the top 10 in the State of Texas for 2025. The college moved up a spot from last year to be tied at No. 3 in the state in the Best Public Affairs Programs category and is No. 72 overall among the 268 programs ranked this year.

Currently, the college’s M.P.A. program is No. 1 in Texas and No. 8 in the nation in local government management and in the homeland security and emergency management category, HPS is top in the state and No. 5 overall. These specializations weren’t ranked this year but will be again in 2026.

The master’s in rehabilitation counseling in the Department of Rehabilitation & Health Services is also a top-ranked program, sitting at No. 1 in the state and No. 12 overall. And, in the Department of Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology, the Doctor of Audiology program is ranked No. 4 in Texas, ranking No. 66 overall (tied). The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology also landed a spot in the top 10 in the state – tied for No. 7.

HPS also offers graduate programs in behavior analysis, criminal justice, health data analytics, health services administration, and social work, as well as 10 undergraduate programs, multiple grad-track pathways and online certification programs.
